Hi,
Does anyone recognize this maker? I picked it up at a small show and the seller had no idea.
The knife is marked D98 on the reverse, and the sheath is marked 98. No name on the sheath, but the maker name Welch is on the knife. overall 7 1/2" with a blade of 3 3/4". It is quite a nice little knife, with a tapered full tang and some filework... It feels "right" in the hand as well.
Thanks!

Coop, please allow me to thank you on behalf of this guy.

Y'know, folks, we're all pretty fortunate to have this forum and all the expertise therein. The least a person can do, who benefits from said expertise, is say 'thank you'. In this case, the turnaround time was a couple hours between question asked and question answered, which is pretty damn amazing imo.

Just sayin.

He'll come back. He hasn't been on since he posted. Although folks have bailed in the past. ;)

A bunch of years ago someone was selling a FULL SET of Knives Annuals from 1981 to say, 2005. I bought the whole shebang. I update every year. It's like an old makers encyclopedia for recalling names and marks, etc.

It's a fun challenge, and I don't mind doing it on occasion. All for the fee of a "Thanks!"

Brownshoe and Lorien: Thank YOU!
