Buy a copy of Fur-Fish-Game magazine. This will give you some information and they sell reprints of outdated books that they or their predecessors once published. I have almost all of them and I believe that these are just what you are looking for.

Contact your state trappers association, take the trapping course offered in your state to become a liscensed trapper
A Field guide to Edible Wild Plants (Eastern/Central North America) Peterson Guide series is a good beginner, might be lucky and find a used one if you search something like Bookfinder.com
Good luck both are fun and rewarding endeavors

Try the Bushcraft books by Richard Graves, they cover tracking trapping and lots of other subjects. They can be downloaded off the net at a few sites.

Hawbaker's "Trapping North American Furbearers"
The Rural Ranger is a great book on this also.
6 Ways In 12 Ways Out, very good food procurement section.

"Edible Wild Plants-A North American Field Guide"--An Outdoor Life book has very good info and photos and is organized so to be easy to use. Be leary of books that have line drawing i.d.'s of plants. Photos are much better and safer.--KV

stalking the wild asparagus by euell gibbons is an all time classic and still one of my favorites.

I got some pdf files on my comp, some are good while otheres arent. You can be the judge of that. Just PM me and ill be happy to mail them to you. That is as long as i can compress them to under 10mb a piece (hotmails limit).

This is one of the best trapping/snaring books out there. It's out of print now, but if you search the web you'll still be able to find it. I've read mine several times and it's taught me more about trapping than I thought I could ever learn from a book.
