Apparently they aren't very common, I can't find much of a selection...

Edit: By the way, I like the design of the "CRKT K.I.S.S. P.E.C.K." (damn abbreviations), but I don't care much for aus-6 and I'm afraid the handle would be too thin and uncomfortable with pressure.

The CRKT Neck PECK is a nice lil neck knife, very lightweight, but still handle to handle most day-to-day cutting chores.
Since you edited your post while I was typing: the handle is thin, but it can be paracord-wrapped for decent grip security when it comes to light utility tasks.

I have not yet fondled a Spyderco Ronin, but it looks like a great defensive knife.

By the way...please use the search function.

Hmm... I've been using the search button a lot on google and varios knife sites (like 1sks) to try to resolve this, but I guess I'll try searching this site too. Sorry to bother people by asking an old question, if that's what I'm doing.

well, this isn't exactly a wharnie but it's pretty close :)

MightyGoat,
BFC's search function provides an incredible wealth of information. When I like to gather info about a particular knife/company/steel/whatever, I use the search engine first and if either
a) any questions remain unanswered or
b) I would like to hear more opinions,
I open a new thread.

I'm don't want to sound rude, but you could definitely benefit from using BFC's search feature and at the same time save bandwidth.

While I was doing a google search for that knife I came across the Jeff Hall Arcy Ally one. Both are very nice.

Check the Exchange, Knifemakers section, Fixed Blades. I saw a few nice wharncliffe neckers there at reasonable prices, too. As was said, if you do a search for "wharncliffe necker" or wharncliffe neck" I bet you'll have plenty of reading!

he had a couple up for sale in the Fixed Blade: by Maker section. They were damascus blades with G-10 handles and kydex sheaths for $125. If I had $125 I would have bought the blue/black G-10 handled one. But I think all I can swing with this paycheck is a nice leather piece for my Buck 110. He and his knives have a good rep.

I would use the search function when asking more of the obvious questions..."best steel" etc.

I don't mean to sound rude but, if it weren't for questions, then this forum would be useless rehashed "this knife is better" threads.

Fireshaker,
I'm not complaining, but that's why the search engine exists, right?

Questions don't bother me at all, it's just that there are already a gazillion of threads that cover many, many subjects. If anything's not clear after reading a few older posts, I encourage every newbie to ask. I post a lot of questions myself and try to answer other people's enquiries as often and good as possible.

Aye, agreed. I make it a habbit to do an extensive search before every thread I post. Even sometimes If I DO find alot of things out, I still might make the post just to hear additional comments.

That's something I do as well, but the vast majority of my (and probably everyone else's) questions can be answered adequately after doing a brief search.

I encourage every newbie to ask and I try to answer whenever I feel that I have something worthwhile to contribute. But they should also be willing to invest a little of their own time to research and not simply rely on other people posting stuff (this is not directed at Goat, but just some general advice which I feel is important, 'cause forums are a give-and-take thingie...giving and taking knowledge, that is).

I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Well that's interesting... anyway, I saw your post before it was edited, and I sent you an e-mail.

Look in the exchange forum under fixed blades by makers. L6steel, Michael Cooper, makes some. His curved wharncliff, or cajun wharncliff, is a nice little cutter and very affordable.

Spyderco's Ronin looks great. I'm going by looks alone though having never handled one. The reviews on the forum looked pretty good too. If you go to Mike Snody's website you can see the custom version too.
