I'm trying to decide on a custom folder by the maker B. King. Has anybody heard of this maker? Any info would be appreciated.

If you're talking about Bill King you can't go wrong.Does excellent work at unbeatable prices.He's been around a while and I was'nt even sure if he was still making knives.About 5 yrs.ago I bought a Persian style folder from him.It had some of the best elephant ivory scales I've seen.Mokume bolsters with titanium liners and an opal thumb stud to open the 3.5" blade.File work all around.All this for $425.
 
Bill King is a full time maker from Tampa FL. His mark is King inside of crown.
Sold his first knife in 1976.
Prices $135.00 to $425.00 some to $650.00.

I checked the bidding history of a B. King knife on eBay that I just bought, and it seems we were bidding on the same one. Sorry about that, I think I only bid about $19.00 more than you did. I picked it up as a present for my wife, as she likes "Shells", and I thought the Mother of Pearl might appeal to her. If she isn't thrilled, I'll check to see if you are still interested in it. I'm not the best at picking presents she likes, although the 3.5 carat solitaire ring went over well on her 40th birthday. The new car tire back in the early days when cash was scarce was not quite as big a hit! Anyway, sorry we were both on the same hunt, it looks like a great knife, although I haven't received it yet.
