Can Anyone Help Me Out With The Carry Law For Maryland For Carrying Knives In Your Car. I Have A 8 Inch Kbar And A 19 Inch Machete I Have Behind The Back Seat. I Have A Pick-up Truck. I Use Them For Camping With My Kids Which We Do A Lot And Never Took Them Out.

A lot will depend on the LEO and your attitude when stopped. A freind of mine was stopped with about 15 knives in the back seat of his car. He was very respectful and informed the Leo he was going home from a Knife & Gunshow. Leo asked him to lock them up in his car trunk. Since you drive a pickup I know this is not possible. If in doubt I would ask a local Leo about the situation, I have & they were very helpful with the matter of transporting guns & knives. The Leo told me if the knives were locked in a container & I didnt have easy access to them it should be ok. Hope this helps.

I would ask a local DA or attorney. I would avoid asking an officer. Not to be disrespectful, but LEOs are not the ones that would prosecute you for breaking knife laws. Officers' jobs are not to understand the finer points of the law, but to kick suspicious cases to the DA's office.

I've received some firearms and airgun information from my local PD, but found it was flat out wrong when I consulted an attorney.

That is a very good point & thanks for the input! I am going to check on this for my state.

If you call the Law Enforcement Center, they might be able to transfer you to an attorney directly- that is what they did for me when I called about nunchuku.
