Anyone know this case knife?

Just picked it up because it was different.
Inside liner engraved Ray Cook 9.9.76

Looks to be mother of pearl handles and sculpted blades.
I know it's a trapper config, but not sure of its origins

Any help is appreciated

the stamp looks like what the ran from 1970 to 79
strange ive read that case had the dot system in 1970, start with 10 dots and one removed every year, i only see one dot on yours, 1979?
but your engraver date is '76 ? strange
somebody went to town on it with the file work thats for sure
whats the number on the other blade?

Actually upon further inspection it actually has four dogs under case USA
 
cool so its a 76 googled the guys name only came back with a case canoe that had been filed on and a knife maker of the same name ?

That's why I picked it up I've collected a lot of caseknives over the years but I've never seen anything from ray cook,let alone anything dated
 
Going to clean it up some and get some oil on the pivot and get it worked in tonight. Gona work like new, well sitting in my knife case
