I believe that's actually a photo of a Blackwater contractor, not a SF soldier. As for the knife, I have no clue.

Could be anything

Almost...(pattern on handle) but pommel looks a bit off

Similar, but not quite

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if it could possibly be a Randall.

No probs...only thing is, the Randall's have a pommel which is a little bit thicker than what is in the picture of the Operative.

Looks like a Cold Steel Stag Trailmaster in a brown leather sheath. Very intimidating to a culture who fears the blade more than an AK.

Looks like a match to me. Good eye indeed. I couldn't imagine carrying a 9.5" bladed knife into battle though. Maybe a 6"-7". He's there and I'm not so maybe he knows something that I don't. :D

I agree. I think it is an old Stag TM.
As for the folder in his pocket, I am not sure. It appears to be a tip-down carry so it is not a CS.

That picture is old, I believe it was from sometime in 2002. If I remember it was a few months after that the order was given to the SF units to shave and wear full uniforms.

A Marine friend of mine once told me that all SF guys have two things in common, a pair of Oakleys and a Randall knife. But it sure does look like a Trail Master. Oh, and the folder's a Chinook.
