those would be what we refer to as "Cheapies". you're better off staying away from them; between the breakage and the daily maintanance (that is unheard of with a quality bali), it's just too much of a hastle. go with a Jaguar instead (they do have the same problems, but it's not as much of a problem as with those()
 
Ok, "El Cheapo" is a hint, but I really need to know the exact model to tell you the truth. I'm probably going to get a more expensive model later on, but I do like the feel of my current knife. To tell you the truth they aren't really that hard to maintain if you don't care about handles touching, and being flexable from side to side.
 
ah, yes, but when the handles have too much play (sideways movement), the inside channels will often contact the edge of the blade when you manipulate the knife. this will nullify any chances you may have of retaining a sharp edge, unless you resharpen every few days. now, if you don't care about the usefulness of your tool, that's another matter entirely.
