Anyone know what "STL" designates in the GEC ID codes?

The STL stands for "Spread The Love".....of collecting traditional knives.......yeah, that's it. :D

Yep, the Tidioute models are generally steel bolsters and liners. The Northfields have nickel-silver bolsters and brass liners.

Not exactly... Both Tidioute and Northfields are typically nickel-sliver bolsters and brass liners. Only STL models are steel bolsters and liners. Lately, with (most of) the #15s and the #68 jacks, that has only been the Tidioutes however Northfield STL knives have been made in the past. While it may have been for other models, I'm sure that has happened on the #73s

I certainly with they would put out more of the steel Northfield's with the stamped blades, such cool knives. Love to see a run of 42's with these features.
