Anyone know when Busse switched to using UPS for shipping?.

I'm confused because I was still charged USPS Priority mail prices

If memory serves, my TGLB order last month came via UPS... My Rucki arriving tomorrow is also coming via UPS.

I'm happy about both, because I have a USPS mail driver who is bound and determined to get my stuff stolen. She loves to leave it sitting in my unlocked outgoing mail box, even though the incoming box is bigger and locks...

So shouldn't that be a little cheaper then since it is going UPS Ground instead of USPS Priority ?

I think they switched in January. they may have renegotiated / re-analyzed their expenses with shipping. UPS may pick up whereas before they may have had to drop off packages. who knows...

*shrug* I don't know, but I don't care if it's not. Whatever gets my shiny new sharps home safer is what I want. :)

It might be more related to tracking. If I understand correctly, UPS tracks every step of the way, while USPS just tracks when it was dropped in the system and when it was delivered.

UPS charges a pretty steep surcharge ($3-$4) for residential delivery. The company I work for ships everything with UPS due to better tracking and more reliable service but we can pay up to $15 for small 1 lb. packages delivered to residential addresses.

Thanks for the info. I just assumed it would be cheaper since it is is coming the slower ground shipping UPS way instead of the 2 to 3 day option of USPS.

One thing that sucks about UPS shipping is that I don't know when they will be here to deliver it. With the post office it's always been the same time everyday.

I hate UPS, such a terrible service , especially when shipping north of the border.

You clearly haven't seen the USPS's goof-ups... UPS is superior in pretty much every way except price. They've also been pretty decent at working with me when stuff has gone wrong.

UPS actually fabricates customs clearance fees when crossing the border into Canada. I have had well over 300 knives shipped into Canada. Only bad experience has been with UPS. They are not invited to come see me any longer.
