Anyone know where to find a combo edge military?

Well... I ordered a Szabo thinking it would be my new EDC...finding I don't like the placement of the lock on the back.. old hands too used to liner locks....its been too many years SO... the replacement will be the Military I wanted and was looking for when I ran across the Szabo at a good enough price that it was worth taking a chance at...

Strangely enough, I really have a thing for combo edge blades for EDC...and I know the military once came with a combo edge....sadly it looks like I'm about a year late to the party =o(

Does anyone know any dealers that may still have some old stock? ( don't get yourselves in trouble....don't openly list non affiliated dealers please ) or do I just need to start watching auction sights and the forum exchange?

I'd be happy enough with the plain edge.... but I'd be tickled pink with a combo edge....figgered I'd at least try to find one before I settled....

Thanks guys!

I have one in the old gray box, and I'm pretty sure it's new. I'd need a heck of a good trade for it though lol. It took me forever to find one.

Well the good news is, there's at least one very reputable dealer who has both the black bladed and satin versions of the combo edge Military in stock. Bad news is, they're not affiliated and they charge full MSRP for all their knives. Another option would be to buy the PE version and use the guy Sal Glesser has recommended on Spyderco's Forum to add serrations to it.

I'm not sure who Sal recommended but Darby (Bearfacedkiller) picked up a couple of factory seconds paramilitaries for me and him at the sale and he sent them off to have serrations cut. (partial) They did a good job considering they were working with a knife that had already been sharpened on both sides. It definitely doesn't look like factory work but they look good and they are fully functional.

OP, you're just a little late. I had a NIB that I just recently sold. :-/

Yeah, I had two factory second Para2s partially serrated. I am not sure if I can name the vendor who did it but it was cheap and they did a good job. They are the ones who Sal recommended and they were a pleasure to deal with. It is a small family business. They had to blend the bevel in the back into the back of the serrations so it has a bevel all the way down the side opposite the serrations. It performs well. They have a wheel that cuts 1 3/4 inch of serrations which is a good amount. It was $6 plus a flat rate box both ways to have it done so I got two knives done for under $25 total.

Thanks guys! I knew there was a solution... after Deacon's cryptic tips I dug thru the forums and found a listing for trusted retailers.... was able to track one down from a paid supporter/forum member with a storefront/buisness who still had some old stock... got a black blade, black G10 combo edge for 168.00 delivered, all in all I'm more than happy with that!

I knew someone would have a line on em =o)

Pics coming as soon as delivery is made.... then off to the trade forum to flip the Szabo to cover it once I have the Military in hand.

=o) it's always a good day when you are able to track down 3 year old out of production knives at current retail....especially when it's something you want pretty badly! I feel like I won the lottery LOL

may have spoken too soon... a lot of reviews on that specific websight claim they show items they do not actually have for sale... =o( we shall see if I get a tracking number in the next day or two but after reading what the reviews say... I fully expect to still be " on the hunt "
