Anyone know a maker who makes a similar shaped head to fit to a wood handle? Love the shape, but $350 is steep, man, steep.

i have an eagle talon. if you find someone to make one may i suggest thinning it down. that thing is 3/8" thick with all most NO edge. it is basically an expensive hammer for busting into things. the spike is needle sharp though and the hooking edge is decent. it does look cool though which is why i bought it:thumbup::D

One of those Harbor Freight Fireman's Hatchets would be close. They're twenty bucks, so grab an angle grinder while you're there (another $20) and fix the rest yourself. Just keep a bucket of water handy to keep the head cool while you're grinding.

^^^ that's great I was just saying the same thing, in my first post here. Harbor freight and those german made fire axes they are the best thing going there.
