Unless I'm incorrect (highly possible) it seems the full size SOG Seal 2000 and Seal Elite blades are either Aus-8 or Aus-6.

I remember reading about the competition for the SEAL contract back in the early 90's, which went to SOG.

Due to my fading memory, I can't remember which steel was/is used for SEAL issue knives. Aus-6, 8 or something else.

I believe the Seal 2000 is AUS-6 but I'm not too familiar with the non-current lineup. Currently I don't think SOG produces any AUS-6 blades; they're mostly AUS-8.

Most current Sog knives use AUS-8 steel.

SOG Seal 2000 in the early years was stated as 440A SS.
but it was probably AUS6.

Yes, the SEAL 2000 was AUS-6. the current SEAL Team knives are AUS-8.
