Hey guys,

I currently have a Busse on hold from the SOS collection ( thanks Travis! )

I would like to know more about the SOS series as it is my favorite combo of blade finish and handles so far.

The SOS (Son of SWAT) was an OP2WP1 offering. You can see the thread where Jerry announced it (and gave some background) here. You can see an archived version of the original offer page for the Son of Swat (S.O.S.) LE here. There was also a BG, but the link for that is dead.

The "Swat" in "Son of Swat" refers to the SwatMandu which is one of many variations of the Swamp Rat RatMandu, which is still available on the Swamp Rat website here. Others include the InfiMandu, the MountainMandu, and the RatChuteMandu. I'm sure there are others.

That's a Meaner Street. .looks like a Leaner...very undesirable...in fact, those full flat grind versions have been recalled, I believe.

Send it to me for proper disposal and documentation for the archives.

ETA: Ickythump doesn't operate an authorized disposal facility. You can tell because there's no disposal fee. Proper disposal isn't free.
 
Also, I believe it's from the 2011 Knob Creek show, where it was apparently one of what was referred to as the "Safety Orange Series." It was $257. There used to be a little information here, but Photobucket killed all the pics.

They were offered at a knob creek show and on ganzaa.. i got the meaner street, active duty, pork shank, boss street and saber grind fusion steel heart. They also made a fusion battle mistress. Beautiful combo.

and I've seen a lot of models with solid orange/satin combo that weren't mentioned. NMSFNO, SOB, SOB clip-point variant, Drop Point Hunter, Team Gemini 2014 ed., Steak Knife, Game Warden, and more
I just did google image searches for the phrases "Busse Safety Orange", "Busse Solid Orange", "Busse Solid Orange Satin", etc and looked around

Also, ASHBM LE #2/300 with the swedge is a solid orange/satin.

The meaner street I have in that handle is a .25" monster blade, the thing is incredible. Also have the hunter around here somewhere. I really like the orange handle on the smaller knives, those Boss Streets do look badass. The bigger knives, it's just physically and visually a ton of orange. I did lose a satin NMFBM in my yard for less than 24 hours though (I forgot it outside after working and had no recollection where it was)...it would have laughed at my push mower...
