I am going there for a week (for work) and am looking for a close and good day hike or two.

Please let me know if you know of any MUST SEE locations, hikes, or sites near Taos.

I spent a few weeks in northern New Mexico a few years back with my church. A ton of beautiful country around there.

The Taos Pueblo was really neat, there was some other Native American Reservation that we stopped at in the area with a really neat hike along a river up to a waterfall.

We did some great white water rafting on the Rio Grande, Class IV stuff, some of the best rafting I've done anywhere in the country (although my experiences are limited).

We had spent most of our time at Ghost Ranch (a facility owned by the Presbyterian Church), its in Abiquiu NM, about an hour from Taos. It's where Georgia O'Keefe did a lot of her work, and there's some really cool hikes within the Ranch property.

Also in that area we did a nice day hike of one of the mountains, can't remember how high it was, but it wasn't a bad or difficult hike at all. The view from the top was amazing.

Anywhere you go out there is beautiful, I'm sure you won't have a problem finding things to do.

email me if you've got any more questions.

I'm from Santa Fe, NM. I live in CO now though. When are you gonna be down there? There are a lot of cool areas, and I wish I had taken advantage of them more actually. Santa Fe is a pretty cool town, lots of hikes going up the the Santa Fe ski basin.
