Anyone lookin to go into big time production?

Ummm, Wire EDMs are great for tool and die because they are fairly high precision but they only cut in 2D and aren't exactly speedy. There's also a lot of setup required per piece. A good bandsaw and grinder will be a lot faster for cutting out 2D blanks than one of these.

Now if you want fairly high precision and speed you should check out one of these http://www.methodsmachine.com/products/D7.htm

That would be a cool thing to have! hehe

I only live an hour away too...I could go pick it up! :D

I wonder how different that is from the edm machine that Bailey Bradshaw uses to cut ti up into liners and such? Daggum thing would take up half my shop, lol.

I should modify my response. I was thinking of steel when I posted. EDMs are very good at cutting up hard to cut materials. Ti, Cobalt alloys and even carbides can be cut quite easily. (One of my customers does 95% of his work on cobalts and carbides using mainly EDMs. He also does machining of carbides using polycrystalline diamond (PCD) inserts) If you work with exotic alloys, and can get it cheaply, it might be worth it.
