Is it possible to do well? Do you need a huge clamping mechanism? Special kind of glue, or will any standard mixed epoxy work?

You can make something that looks a little like micarta, but it won't be phenolic,or as good,IMHO.

That does look interesting, does the pattern go all the way through? What materials, ect?

the pattern goes most the way through
i will have more pictures when i get finished
not sure about the blend of the fabric got it at walmart
it is colored all the way not just printed on top
used envirotex lite 2 part polymer coating same stuff i used on the OB knife i did before and it seems to work well
next time i make more i think i try bigger BBs and just on one of the press plates
also i dont like to clean up so everything gets wraped in plastic wrap 2 times just in case press it wait a day and plastic holds the mess pull the plates apart and go from there sanding and cutting

Cool, just make sure you post a pic of the finished knife. I realy like your shop press :p
