Anyone mod a Leatherman in half?

I had this idea that one half of a leatherman ( my favorite brand) might make a good pocketknife, by cutting of the side I like the best, probably the side with the knifeblade. I was thinking of doing this on a simpler model like the Kick,or something like that. You would actually end up with two "pocketknives". Has anyone thought of this or done it? If so, I'd love to see some picks before I do it myself.

then you would have 2 "half empty" (where the pliers used to go) boxes/cases

not very efficient, get 2 SAKs!

Someone over at EDCforums did that with a Leatherman Charge. IIRC it worked out pretty well.

You can do it, but it's gonna be a space waster due to the empty area where the pliers went. I personally see no value in it.

Yeah, after studying it for a while, I see that where the pliers head is,will be just extra space after. I was hoping the new leatherman knives would be of more simple design, but in my opinion, they fouled that up by making them too bulky and gimmicky, instead of a simple stamped handle with a knife and maybe a tool or two.

I saw a Leatherman Micra that was ssplit in half. It looked pretty nifty.
