Why? This is a Strider forum, what better place to sell a Strider. These guys will buy that sh*t up real quick!

Sadly, the moderators will definitely give you a hard time about posts like this. They want people to pay for a gold membership and post sale items in the "for sale" section only. Personally I think it blows, but that's the rules.

that does blow!
perhaps put them up on the tactical forums, and just include your link here....
I'm sure they will find a way to bitch about that too.

Ease up a bit, guys! This is BF, not the Gulag.

Selling/buying Striders is part of the reason for having a Strider forum. Its a routine event to post Emersons for sale on that forum, and no one (from Spark on down) has ever said a word about it. This is the perfect place to post a Strider, and frankly, I wish one of you KH owning bastids would get yours up already!

There's a thread where Spark replied to an Emerson `For Sale' posting by Joel Pirela -Full Dress Custom For Sale!!!!

"Do me a favor - don't sell your knives in this forum! Use the provided For Sale Forums on this site.

Selling a $3000 knife here really cheeses me off when we charge a measly $30 per year for a subscription that actually helps keep the forums open.

Hopefully I'm not being to subtle here.

Kevin"

I stand corrected! I must have missed that bit of unnecessary interference. I still think posting specific brands for sale in their respective forums is not only acceptable but desirable.

Yeah, Spark came down on me recently in the sword forums for recommending Mineral Mountain Hatchet Works to a guy who was looking for an inexpensive big chopper. I intentionally left off my signature line that has a link to my Mineral Mountain site, but he still didn't like me "advertising" stuff that I was affiliated with. Ticks me off. I've owned MMHW stuff for a lot longer than I've been maintaining their web site, and it sucks to not be able to recommend stuff I really believe in. Whatever...

Hey Guys,
I had no idea about the selling thing. I e-mailed Spark this morning apoligizing and leting him know to remove the threads.

just my opinion, but selling or trading striders on tis forum is a way to "keep them in the family"
I can see how it could get out of hand with others, but it still pisses me off that it's harder to "help a buddy out."

Think of it this way - if you enjoy using the forums, you should help keep them open, not try to get around the rules.

You may find it inconvenient and unnessary, but keeping these forums open isn't free. There's a monthy bill that I have to pay around here, and you'd be more inconvenienced if the forums suddenly closed down. Think about it

Kumdo - why is it fair for you to make money off selling on the forums, but it's unfair for me to? Is this truly the image you want your business to maintain? Think about it.

Kevin

I think I understand what you're saying Spark (I had a few too many wiskeys tonight). I guess my problem is that I don't really consider the Mineral Mountain thing a "business"- just a little side thing. Anyway, rules is rules, and I will try to comply better in the future.

Peace!

Thanks for your understanding. I'm really trying not to be a bastard about this - I'm just in a tough position; trying to keep the site open for everyone to enjoy.
