i was just wondering if anyone decided not to use the shock absorbers on the thumb lugs? The knife should function just fine without them right?

It should, but the O-rings reduce noise and wear, and I tend to think they're a big part of a fully functioning 'Zaan.

The knife will work just fine with out the o-rings but the thumb studs look a bit weird with out them IMO.
The o-rings just work as a buffer for the contact point on the scales as the thumb studs are obviously the stop pin.

I cant imagine why you would not want to use the orings.CRK puts a lot of

time and research into their knives.

Im sure Chris didnt put them on the knife For Looks. The orings are there to

absorb shock and quiet the clack sound.

I was just wondering because I some how lost one of them??? I took the knife out of my pocket and one o-ring was missing. Do you know where I can pick some of these o-rings up at?

Haze has a post with glow in the dark o-rings on the umnumzaan, absolotely very cool

I remember from way back in the days in my teens, I had a glow in the dark knife, that thing always drove me crazy when I was looking at in the dark whenever I got home stupid drunk after a night out drinking with friends :D
