Anyone own a Benchmade Mini Onslaught and a Spyderco Perrin PPT?

How do they compare to each other? I've got the PPT, but the only Benchmade knife I own is a Wadell mini Bone Collector and I like it, but the tip isn't pokey enough with that upswept drop-point.

I honestly wished that Benchmade made more knives with G10, a pokey-tip plain-edge FFG drop-point, and a 3-3.5" blade.

I've held off on a Griptilian because I can't find one that has all the features in it that I want (mini-size, orange handle, FFG D2, hole instead of thumb-stud), but this Bob-Lum designed Mini Onslaught looks like a definite keeper.

But anyway, I really like my PPT and the Mini Onslaught looks to be similarly shaped with a FFG blade around the same length, so I figure its probably going to be a winner in my book.

Anyone have both that can chime in? Would love to see a pic-comparison with the two of them.

Benchmade offers the ability to make your own custom Griptillians (mini and standard) for a slight premium and I do believe that all of your specifications can be filled (other than the full flat grind D2).

When I got my ptt the similarity to the mini onslaught was one of my first thoughts . They have similar ergs and fit and finish on both is excellent. The benchmade also is a bit lighter than the ppt .

That dropped rear of the handle is a feature I like on my PPT. Just got it yesterday, but I already know that this is going to be a comfortable handle.

Very much appreciate that man!

And yeah, that dropped grip looks very Kershaw-ish (which I've said about the PPT as well), so its like this knife is the best of all three big companies with attributes that I find very attractive in a carry knife. I wish it had a finger-choil and some jimping, but I'm ok with the G10, blade-shape, Axis lock and even the 154CM (I no longer own a knife in 154CM, so it will be nice to have one again). I think the answer is clear - I will own one of these very soon.

I recently held one of the Mini-Onslaughts and i couldn't believe how much i liked it. The lockup was real solid, handle had a real nice feel, and the axis lock made it even better. It will probably be the next knife i buy.
