I'm seriously thinking of getting one. Actually, I am getting one unless something convinces me otherwise. What do you thik of yours? Does it flip well for a small knife? And what do you guys think of the dagger blade? Do you think that there could be a problem with the tip because it is so thin? Thanks for your opinions :)

i have a mini maxx spear point w/talonite blade and CF handles, really like it, flips very well, MUCH smoother than a cammilus maxx (it should at the price lol), suprised by how easy the talonite is to sharpen, easier than D2 imho, very strong lock, looks cool, only negative is its high $$, but worth it imho. oh, and check the thumbstuds (ralph and cammilus) they will come loose and it could scratch your blade when it flips over and around w/out the stop. put some loc tite on them and they wont come loose again. the studs on my cammilus came loose and just for grins checked the DR and lo and behold it was loose also.

the micro is pretty small, too small for me, but if thats what ya like, go for it, an excellent knife from an excellent maker imho.

really dont carry mine lots cuz its so high dollar, the talonite really runs it up in a hurry.

edited to add - i dont think ya will have any tip probs unless ya stab it into an engine block or something.

Dylan,
I don't own a micro, but I can vouch for the maker. I met Darrel at the Blade Show in Atl and bought a R/W tactical. I replaced the teflon washers with phosphor-bronze after some much appreciated direction from Darrel.
You can't go wrong with a knife from a craftsman and a gentleman such as Darrel Ralph.

I have a micro and really love it. It is what I carry when I need to have something smaller than my 5.5 Maxx. I would call it a brute of a gents knife. Unless you have large hands, it will fit the hand very well and flips open amazing well for a blade with such low mass. Darrel does use loctite on the blade stop/studs. He does occassionally forget to use it.

Get one and enjoy it. Take a look at his site, he is doing some different carving and different inlays on these.

I have a Mini Maxx with a 4" spearpoint recurve blade in Talonite. It is slim, elegant, and very smooth. It flips open more easily than my full-sized Camillus Maxx despite the shorter and much lighter blade. I've carried it every day for a year-and-a-half and couldn't be happier.
