I just recently SOLD a Steel Heart 2 ... it was a flimsy piece of sh*t ...
j.k.
It's definitely a great knife. But it's also the most blade-heavy knife in that general size that I've handled. Loosen your grip slightly and it immediately begins to tilt over your index finger. I felt that its "natural tendency" was to lurch forward and down like a chopper, which it no doubt can perform very well for its size range. If you like that style of balance, then the SH2 is your baby.
With the $ recouped from the sale, I paid for the Badger Attack I JUST received (thank you, Andy Prisco). At 11 oz, the BA is 5 oz lighter than the SH2 but feels like it's only 1/3 of the SH2's weight. The BA is much more compact but just as solid. Much better suited for my needs/wants in a camping-type knife.
Different strokes for different folks (many of which Busse seems fully capable of meeting.)
While we're on the subject of the Busses, folks who are considering them should note that the SH2 and BA, at least, are a little bigger than their measurements indicate. The SH2 from tip to micarta scale is 8" with 7" actual cutting edge, and 1.75" wide. The BA is 4.75" from tip to micarta scale, with 4-1/8" cutting edge, and 1-7/16" W at the blade's base/heel. The SH2 retains its 1/4" thickness along most of its blade, while the BA has a very nice, gradually narrowing distal taper. Just FYI.
