Mike- I had an auto Kestrel a few months ago and I thought it was a real nice piece. Tight lock up and real solid overall, it's also fast as hell (don't know if you're looking for auto or manual). It's light for carry if you decide to do so. I only wished it was a little larger, I ended up trading it for a M.O.D. auto, but I think you should go for the Kestrel, it is a nice little carry/work knife. Donald.

Mike,

I own a MT Krestal manual. Really nice fit and finish as with all MT products. The handle fits just right. Yes it could be bigger but it was not design for that. The blade is sharp as hell and you do get a great grip on it. I also have a Vector same handle just a different blade. I was going to sell the Krestal but when I heard MT is going to stop making them I decided to keep it. It is a nice knife afterall. Hope this helps.

I really like the Kestrel. I think the handle is just right. It is a small knife, but the blade is extremely sharp and it is great to carry around. You don't even know it's in your pocket. If you are just collecting, get the auto. If you are going to carry it, get the manual. The microbar lock is great.

I've had one for about 4 months and really like it. I carry either it or my LCC daily. It's been good for basic cutting chores.

Mike- I like mine a lot. I wasn't sure how functional that blade shape would be, but it works great for a lot of everyday chores. Sharp as heck, holds a good edge, MT's usual excellent fit and finish. I'd say go for it in manual, auto... or both!

I have the auto and manual versions and love both kives...especially the manual. The thick leaf lock is a very secure liner and I like the manual better than the auto believe it or not.

Beautiful knife and functional to boot. The krestral is one of my best aquisitions I ever got...thanks to my buddy Gary Graley who sold me both. Guy can't keep a knife....heheheh.
