I used to see his work in AG Russell's CUTTING EDGE occasionally but I have not seen anything since that went under. I always wanted to Order one but never got around to it, too many choices not enough funds. ;) Still, based on what his prices were a couple of years ago they seemed to be a very good buy.

I was just wondering if anyone here has one and what their thoughts are? Pics would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I did the same thing myself. They always caught my eye in the Cutting Edge. I would dog ear that page and keep coming back to it. I came pretty close a couple of times, but like Hillbillenigma I never did buy one.

I own one that I picked up around 3 years ago. It is well worth the sub 200.00 dollar price that I paid, but not without problems that I would expect for a hand made multiblade at that price.

A little review:
Blades lie evenly centered within the liners. The filework is ambitions on this piece and done well. Blade action is nice and crisp, they were very stiff when I purchased the knife, but a little oil and a break-in period of working the blades solved that. One blade has a slight forward and backward wiggle when open (indicating a bad fit between the kick of the tang and the backspring.) Both blades have very slight side to side play when open. Finish is OK, but the pins are not doomed evenly and there are small chips in the perl where it is pinned. The blades are ground well centered to the tang, but this knife does not have crisp and clean shoulders.

At the price, it would be unsreasonable for me to find the quality that is normally seen in like knives that would typically run around 3 times as much. So I am happy with the knife considering everything. This one is number 265 and I would be curious to see the differences in Al's current work and what they go for now.
