It seems a bunch of us own more than one SAK for whatever reason, but I was just wondering if anyone has found that one SAK that serves their needs. I think that's the main reason I keep buying them, I'm still looking for the "one".:D

In my youth I had just one SAK. I got a Huntsman as a High School graduation present, and carried it, usually with a lockblade of some kind as well, until I was well into my thirties. Wish I still had that one.

Now, like a good knifeknut, I've got, um, several.

Currently I only have one.I've had at least a dozen in my life. They keep getting lost or given away.

No, but I used to have only one at a time, acquiring another only if a current SAK were stolen, broken or strayed. This changed largely by chance some years ago.

Looking for a pouch to replace my worn out Swisschamp carrier, I came across a Target sale of a Tinker bundled with a nylon pouch, just what I was looking for, at a price only slightly more than the pouch alone would have cost. Possibly I could find some use for the Tinker, and after a while, I did. Sometimes I needed an EDC that didn't drag down trousers and shorts with elastic waistbands and no belts, or otherwise wanted or had to go about lighter. It wasn't long before I appreciated the Tinker's size/utility package. So now I owned 2 SAKs.

Then came another sale, this time of flashlights, and I picked up a little Maglite Solitaire, perfect size for a jeans watch pocket. While carrying it toward the checkout, I examined the package and noticed there was a lanyard included. This observation occurred just as I was passing by the pocket knife display, featuring a clearance price on a Minichamp. The connection was obvious. With #3 began the slippery slope. Now I've got a modest (by these community standards) collection, enjoy them all and don't think I'll be getting any more. No, really.

I've got 4. Yesterday, I picked up the "highlander" in translucent red. By the way is the translucent handle material also a form of celluloid ? I'm not a huge fan of the celluloid handles, seem to scratch and damage easily.

I have one. It's an alox Electrician. I have been weeding out my collection and have sold alot in the last few months, working myself down to just what I need. Don't ask me why. I now only have two multitools (LM Core and Vic Spirit S for back up).

I dont NEED every sak I have, my wenger SI, or my vic pioneer would be my choice, but why limit yourself. I committed to downsizing, but only in what I carry not what I have in my case. :P

I could get by with just, say, my Wenger Canyon, but why bother when they are cheap, easily avaliable, and fun?

I only have one "real" SAK.

The other is a Chinese clone from when I was a kid, so it doesn't count.

I think the perfect model for me has been produced, it's just that I need to handle some candidates first to get a proper idea of the thickness.

A tinker. I buy regularly and wife has one, my eldest the huntsman, the small versions went to the kids with scissors and pens,,,,,,

Not as if I didn't try.

I have multiple models but the one I use the most is the Victorinox Mountaineer. It is probably the closest SAK to perfection without getting a custom model.

Ideally, I would have a layer with a knife and combo bottle/can opener, a scissor layer, a file, and the bit driver and kit seen on the cybertool series. On the back I would appreciate a corkscrew and awl/reamer.

I have been before and could be again quite happy with only 1 SAK. My trusty Vic Rucksack..........should I get the OHT instead?............maybe my Wenger BSA?....................or my Soldier?.................Wait, I have to take the Classic off my keys?

Now I'm confused again.:D

I only have a black Huntsman. I got my first Wenger when I was 8 years old I think, at a factory store in Austria or Switzerland. Cut my finger on it immediately. I was bleeding like crazy. lol

I then had some cheapo Chinese ones that were absolute junk and the tools bent out of shape when used.

Bought a Huntsman on a whim last year and I'm glad I did. I back it up with a small neck knife and a folder/fixed blade at the waist.

I only have the SAK Officer. It's excellent and has everything I need on it on days that I don't carry my LM Charge TTi.

At one point in my life, I did own exactly one SAK. I currently own a few... dozen.

I only have four presently. A wenger SI, a Vic Farmer, a Vic Huntsman and a Super Tinker.

I don't think you can have only one SAK. But If I did, it will probably be the Wenger...or the Farmer...or the Huntsman...or the Super Tinker.
