Welcome Twinstick.

Your question is easily answered by using the search function. Doing so in the H.I. Cantina or in the general Discussion forum will generate plenty of hits to answer your questions.

I have moved your thread here, as the main forum is for discussion of H.I. products only.
We are not affiliated with khukuri house and it would be appreciated if you would not link to them on our forum.
Posting links to non paying vendors is also against BFc forum rules, so unfortunately i am going to have to modify your link for you.

EDIT: I had to remove it as i could not just post the pic without the pricing.

Khukuri house also makes a Fine khukuri.
But you must be aware that H.I. makes the finest khukuri coming out of nepal, and has for the last 21 years.
AFAIK, khukuri house khukuri carry no lifetime warranty.
As khukuri house ships from nepal, you must add $30-$40 for shipping and there is a 4-6 week wait for your order to be completed and shipped to you.
As H.I. ships from Reno N.V., your khukuri can arrive in 3-4 days.

Karda, I hope it's OK if I respond. TwinStick, I have a KH dharan style blade exactly like this, but different handle. Finger grooved handles look great, but there is a reason most HI handles have always been traditional. IMO finger grooves really hammer your hand if you chop with it, transmitting a lot of vibration and not allowing your hand to reposition when you swing. HI made a few finger groove handles 7 or 8 years ago for a while (I have 3 of them), but has defaulted to the more ergonomic/comfortable handles since.

This is about a 10" blade on here. For this style blade look for an HI sirupati or chainpuri, or for something slightly heavier a chitlangi. This is a fun blade but I don't believe it will hold up as well as an HI. For pure utility you would be much better served with an HI Baby Ganga Ram, BDC or a British Army Service.

Just my .02¢.

Good luck and regards,

Norm
