Anyone own or handled an Angelsword?

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with any swords from Daniel Watson's company?

More expensive than Albion, or Arms and Armor, not historical in terms of outward appearance, but they make some great claims about their toughness and, they have a "you break it, we'll replace it" guarantee.

Some of their swords look quite nice, too.

I can't attest to the quality, having never handled one.

But I, personally, would never lower myself to owning something from AngelSword.

Shady business practices, love to file lawsuits, and their salesmen outright lie to potential customers(I've witnessed this one first hand).

Thanks. The only lawsuit that I know of the the one against swordforum that the judge ruled against them (Angelsword.) I've read some of his posts on the swordarts forum and, he (Watson) seems to be very concerned about patent protection, but I don't know of any other lawsuit.

What kind kinds of things have you heard from their salesmen?

Also, for Triton, thanks. The swords that interested me weighed 3.25 and, 3.75 lb's respectively. Both are longswords, but with relatively short blades (30" and, 34" respectively.) They seem to have long handles, which is a plus for me. After reading your review, I think it would be better to handle the swords first. Although, a sword of that size weighing 5.1 lbs would alert me to potential handling problems.

I would encourage you to do that. You may love the way they handle, you may hate the way they handle. It's a very subjective thing, but I can definitely say that they don't handle like much of anything else I've handled, and I'd venture to guess that I've handled more swords then most.

I stopped by their booth at a renaissance festival. The balance on the one sword I handled seemed a little off to me, as in too close to the hilt. Quite frankly I think they are too much money.
