What do you guys think about their knives ? They look very appealing from the pictures, but I need owners' opinions. The price tag won't hurt my wallet either.

Ive had this small one from their "Companion or Traveler" series for about 3 years now, and it's a good knife.

Holds it's edge and sharpens easily. They compare the steel to BG-42 and that seems to be a fair comparison.

The knife show where I bought mine 3 years ago, is this weekend and if the Rosarms dealer is there, I plan to check out their larger hunting knives.

Thank you Bear Claw Chris Lappe for the response. For their prices, I find it too good to be true and that's why I need opionion from owners and users. I guess I'm gonna give it a shot then. :D

Beluga - we are in the process of completing a Passaround here on the Forums with two ROS Arms knives, one small and one large. I will post some links for you where these Members have recently posted a Review;

Feel free to email any of the folks who posted a Review and ask specific questions.

I am very partial to the Birch Bark handles, wonderful feel and lots of other great properties to Birch Bark.

Which Models are you considering? or What do you plan on using the knife for?

I am considering the Mole and the Dombay. Both look like hard workers, and I do plan to use them hard during camping/hiking/hunting. I will use the knives for general cutting chores (cutting small branches, making camp fire, skinning games, killing bear zombies :D). The both look very attractive, and the reviews you mentioned are excellent ones. Thank you for mentioning the review threads.

I have the Cliff and really haven't used it; really seems to be a quality piece; I very much like it's looks but, as noted in the reviews, I am less than impressed with the sheath; am in process of getting a Kydex sheath for mine and think it will get a work out then.

Check thickness. Some of the blades is thinner then what is usual in US.

This is mine Fox-2

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S. Dombai - 0.08"

Vassili, that's one sexy piece of cutlery you got there. Very nice picture also. I don't mind thinner blades, it just means I'll have to be careful when using the knife as a light prybar. On the other hand, it will be a more effective cutter/slicer, and more easily to sharpen. I don't mind at all as long as the blades are not ridiculuously thin.

I picked one up at BLADE and love it. I don't know what model, just a basic 4" hunter with the Birch handle. The quality is ridiculous for the price, it's amazingly light compared to most of my other knives, and as mentioned, thinner than you're probably used to.

Once you get used to the lightness it's great. So far I'm very pleased with mine- good ergos, cuts well, and has held up well (not especially hard use though). The sheath is just adequate compared to the knife, but it is adequate.

I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I do not mind as well, it just may surprise because most get used to pretty thick blade. I got surprised with Edelveis thin blade - my first RosArms, which I bout out of curiosity mostly because I read a lot on Russian forums about stacked birch bark handles.

But I do not mind thin edge, I consider knife as a cutting tool, and so most Russina hunters, outdoorsmen etc... For chopping nothing can beat hatchet.

Edelveis is my favorite slicer especially watermelons I cut only with it - did not crack shell.

And I love to make photoes of this knives. May be this is my Russian blood call, but they are soooo sexy:

After first two Edelveis and Fox-II I went crazy and just bough bunch of them, because they are under priced on my opinion.

So it was few years ago. After some use I can say that they have most comfortable handlles, they slice just excellent.

Also consider - high blade polish, convex grind. Seath - differ from knife to knife, some of them has good thick leather, some thin.

BTW - there is subforum of RosArms here on bladeforums.

Thanks, Vassili.

I bought one, but haven't really used it much -- well, actually, it's been sitting in a drawer since I got it. It seems to be good quality, but the blade and birch handle are a lot lighter than, say, an equalivalent sized Barkie, and the lightweight sorta feels strange to me. The steel is supposed to be good, althought I've heard that it's quality was a little inconsistent.

So . . . it appears well made, and is a good looking knife, but I haven't really tested it yet. But the price was right.

Hey, I'm a former Special Operations NCO and I've been collecting knives since well,... forever. I recently attended the Atlanta Knife show and purchased A Rosarms Rescue 1 knife. The knife is beautiful and has great lines however as an operator knows a shiny instrument is a no no in terms of a tactical weapon. While I was at the show I observed a few of their knives that were more suited for operations in that they were subdued by using Damascus steel. I have been having trouble locating those knives again even on the Ros Arms website so I guess I will have to call them. While I was at the show I took pics however those are now lost...(didn't know how to operate my camera and accidentally deleted them...Dammit!) The knives are made of Stainless Steel however it's a strong mix of metals, I would recommend buying a few just for the looks or if it's needed in a pinch it will serve it's purpose. The leather sheath is a versatile one that I will say to their benefit. Also I met the salesman there I think it was Ivan and he was pleasant to deal with. Their knives should sell for quite a bit more than what they're asking but keep that between us.
