Post pics of your work please! I was thinking of putting some hardwood handles on - Possible?

It's definitely possible. The difficulty just depends on the knife. The RAM is pretty simple, others are more complicated. For the RAM, all you need is is a drill press and sandpaper. Belt sanders and other tools will speed things up though.

I'd love to re-handle my Speed Bump. The difficulties lie in machining the recess for the torsion bar and the attachment of the clip. I'm sure that many of the AO Onions are like this.

Cocobolo on a RAM; this scale really looks much better now that the wood has been exposed for a while.

I'm working on a set of blackwood scales with gemstone inlays (pietersite, turquoise, lapis, chrysoprase) for the RAM. Should make for a very unique knife.

I re-scaled a Needs Work. Blue/Black g-10, new clip. Speed safe still works. Drill press, Belt sander and a dremel were the only tools used.

I'm going to do a NRG2 when I get the time. Probably in Ironwood.

I know theres a lot of people that re scale their CLB Bokers ( Yes I look at OTHER forums!) seems like the CLB design lends itself to custom scales. With the Boker it SEEMS all You need is a Torx driver a drill press, and some imagination and You have a customized knife. I would love to have a speed bump/Cyclone/ Leek/offset with curly koa or Cocobola wood scales. Wood scales seem less "assembly line" and more "custom". My 2 cents.

I would love to have a set in cocobolo like that. Looks great Phillip!!

Man that RAM looks nice. I want to see some nice spalted maple, or really anything I not that picky! Great work!

Nice Storm also, really makes it look like a new knife that is for sure.

The easiest to do is the mini mojo. To get the insert out put the knife under a shop light for about 15 minutes to soften the glue.

If you go to my profile page there are some pictures in the album I have of my stoneworks......
