I purchased this fine knife a long time ago and it was so nice I never used it. I'm the original owner but forget from where it was obtained. I seem to remember it was purchased at a NY Knife Show, perhaps from Mr. Emerson himself. I believe it is a custom piece. Dose anyone recognize it or know if it is rare? Are the numbers on it a date of production (9 9)? It's approximately 8 inches overall: ATS-34 ? Thank you.

Thanks for any information on this. And thank you Ernie Emerson for making this simple yet terrific piece. (Sorry the pics may not be great; I'm working on it and wish to post an other side pic to show the chisel grind. (Yes, it's sharp.)

Don't know a lot of the history but he made several styles of neck knives. two different sizes and in spearpoint and tanto and one style of dagger. most were black but I have seen some that were hard chromed.

hope this helps,

The "99" on that is the date (1999). Looks like a custom piece- I forget the name. Serious Emerson collectors would probably be interested, but I'm not one who can speculate on a price.

It is a custom knife made by Ernie himself. Of the various neckers he's made, that is a rarer variant - more tantos made than spearpoints, and more three finger handles than full handles. Almost all of the older ones are black, like yours. Nice piece, and the price on neckers has been going up lately.
