Anyone recognize this type of knife?

Hello: I picked this up, and found it to be very unusual, si i purchased it. I'm just wondering if any member can tell me what to call it, and or what it's purpose was/is?

PS: Well, Sorry, but it seems I'm not allowed to add a picture of my knife? I do not know why, or who to contact to find out. The knife is 10 inches long, and has an unsual front tang, that has a one inch tapered point on it. No markings, but the handle appears to be made of bone.

oh ya, and congrats on your first post in blade forums, stick around, i hate it when i see someone who has 4 posts with the last post being like 5 years ago
 
You need to post pictures to get any help. Photobucket was already mentioned and works fine.

well ya, but when you went to purchase it, did they not tell you the name? also, where exactly did you purchase it.

anyway, for your third post on a forum, was that tone necessary?
 
The majority of the posts in this thread have nothing to do with a knife and the bickering is already starting. Knock if off.
 
do you have any idea what kind of steel is used, and possibly what the intended use of the knife is, chopping, slicing, etc?


Ya ill stop... idk if you were talking to me morrow, but Ill assume its me and shut up other than ques of the knife.

We would like to help you, but you have to realize that with the number of knives out there it is hard to answer your question without a lot more info. Marcinek's comment below should help you post a picture and perhaps with that we can take a shot at identifying it for you. As it stands now, I doubt that anyone has a clue as to what knife you have. But again, we would like to help - but you have to help us help you.

Photobucket is a good, free hosting site that is easy to use. Post your picture there (or any hosting site of your choice) and follow their sharing prompts then you should be able to post a picture of it here.

There is a ton of knowledge on this site. I bet that if you get a pic posted, someone will be able to take a good guess as to what knife you have.

Well, let me say this, I'm a human being, and expect to be treated as one. Things went to hell fast, when this "Rude" "VENI VIDI VICI" Applied his, or her "RUDE" Comments to my thread. I indicated i tried to post photos, but I was unable to do so. On most forums, it allows you to pull up a photo in your storage files, but not this one. I do not have photo bucket, or any other means to post a photo. I just want it to be clear, that this turd started the bashing, with his or her comments, as i'm not in the least bit that way. Maybe someone should straighten him/her out, before this site turns to shit! If you want me to resign from your forum, please tell me, and i will do so right away.

Where did you purchase it? An auction, yard sale, gun show etc?

Also, many members are suggesting photobucket --- I use www.imgur.com
It's a lot easier and it does not require an account. Just upload right from your HD and give us the link.

imgur doesn't require an account.. wish i did that first,
also, Izenglish, i don't really know why you think that i was rude, and I'm willing to forget that last post, I am honestly trying to help, If you are mad because of my suggesting that your post calling me a wise guy and such had a harsh tone, I apologize if you thought i meant you were just right out of place, I was only confused at the manner I got from reading it.

Thank You! I don't know what that "imgur" means, but will; call one of my kids to try and make it work.

PS: Guys and Gals, I hate it when a normal human conversation turns into what it did. I do not think i owe an appology, but am man enough to give one anyway

I just WONDER WHY SOME people feel the need to be-little other members. I'm no differeant than the rest of you, as i want to learn, and share!!!!!!!!
