i have the itch for a new small axe, something vikingish in inspiration.
about a 4-5'' cutting face, weighing in around 1.5-2lbs in the head. 18-22'' haft i was thinking. maybe slight hammer poll on the backside but nothing too pronounced
ideally i want more hatchet profile vs hawks that i have. (see below for my very crude explanation of my interpretation of the profile difference...)
anyhow, not looking for the uber finished, satin or hand rubbed... just something well made, strong, and ready to work. hammered finish left in the black is fine with me.
i'm torn between a wedged head attachment and a tapered head/haft fit so i am willing to discuss either.
any input here from other users would be welcome also.
