Vangelis -my all time favorite composer/performer.

His music with Jon Anderson( YES ) is some of my sitting outback enjoying a good pipe and a glass of whiskey from the highlands, music

Just remarkable and ahead of his time.

"Chariots of Fire" remains one of his works that remains inspirational and I can almost hear it playing in my mind as I type this ...thanks for rekindling the memory. :thumbup: :)
 
Oh, yeah, I remember Vangelis. After Bladerunner I was a fan for a few years. Had a lot of tapes (tapes?).

I did buy the Bladerunner soundtrack on CD, but never did fill out the collection again. Even good stuff gets layed aside sometimes.
 
Though I loved Vangelis' sound-track for Blade Runner, I picked up the CD from the library and found it didn't have the impact as a stand-alone piece of music.
 
I was listening to Opera Sauvage just the other day. Makes me think of Jean Michael Jarre as well. :thumbup::thumbup:

I became acquainted with the music of Vangelis through watching the Carl Sagan's old Cosmos TV series. What a great show. I bought a couple of albums (a bit hit or miss).

Also have one of his collaborative efforts (Short Stories) with Jon Anderson (big YES fan here). Some pretty good stuff.
