Was looking for suggestions in removing epoxy finish from a blade. I was thinking of chemical stripper and gradually finer grit sandpaper.

Any practical experiences out there? Pics or results would be helpful.

Thanks.

I used Zip-A-Strip paint remover on my Cold Steel Recon Scout.
Don't expect a pretty, shiney finish under there...
Forum member Bruce Evans (aka Beknives) has a tutorial on hand sanding:

Lots of work will get you this ;)

I had to remove the epoxy from my Cold Steel Fillet knives before I was allowed to use them in a commercial fish processing plant (best knives out there for 10-30 pound fish in my professional opinion). I tried steel wool, sharpeners (diamond and natural), wire brushes and the easiest was........
a spoon! Just flake off the stuff with pressure and I finished one side of a blade in about 5 minutes!!
Good luck

Try getting in touch with Mike Stewart of Bark River knives, I know he has stripped and refinished some Ka-bars and CS knives.
