I did a search, but didn't find what I was looking for. Anyone have good results of removing the anodizing on the thumbstud? I know I could send my knife back to crk for a new silver one, but I'm looking for a home made solution. I read somewhere that people have used "easy-off" oven cleaner on pinball table legs with good results. Anybody care to chime in with their results.

Thanks....

Yes, oven cleaner works! It turned my thumbstud from the cool blue, to a dark purple. One more treatment turned it to a light purple. Nice change, but not the look I was going for. I then used a product that I use on the exhaust pipes of my motorcycle (blue away), I believe it is made by the same company as simichrome, anyway a little dab on a paper towel and some slight rubbing and presto...now my thumbstud is a nice bright silver.

Good for you! I don't think that no one cares. I thought about it but I couldn't come up with anything. Also I would be afraid to put something that is very corrosive on the blade. After messing up the blade on my large Sebenza by trying to rub out a small scratch on the blade with a dremel and ending up needing a new blade, I learned the hard way that is cheaper to let CRK handle the problems. I like to be handy but I hate to mess up a nice knife and/or give you advice that might mess up your Sebbie.
