Out of curiosity, I removed the thumbstud on my 110 Slim Select. Found out the hard way that it's press-fit and not threaded so, needless to say, it's not going back together.
I popped on a stainless Kwik stud, which I'm actually finding to be an improvement. I can mount it further back, leaving me more useable edge without losing any leverage. Also, sitting higher up on the blade, I find it helps to keep my big, fat thumb away from the edge when opening slowly.
Anyone have other suggestions for aftermarket, replacement thumbstud? As much as I love my Bucks, their Princess-Leia-sticky-buns-hairdo thumbstuds could use some of that smart redesigning that went in to the new pocket clips and torx assembly.
I've browsed the knifemaking sites, but I don't have an accurate way to measure the existing thumbstud hole. Though it does appear much smaller than most.
