Anyone Replace the Handle on a Cold Steel Recon Scout?

Hey all,

I was looking at a Recon Scout the other day and the only thing that I don't like about it is the handle. I thought that if I were to get one, I would like to have it replaced with something that not only looked better, but was more comfortable in the hand. I am curious if anyone here has done the same thing or had it done to their Recon Scout or Trailmaster as it too has the same type of handle.

The only problem with replacing the handle on either of these knives is that doing so would probably cost $50 minimum and thus put you up to another level than the Recon Scout and would get you a better knife to begin with if you took the extra $50 and put it with the purchase amount.

Anyone ever done it? If so, how about pics? I'd like to see some pics of the work.

Thanks

Did this handle mod on a Recon Scout in Carbon V steel about 12-13 Years ago.
Glued together stacked leather washers made from an old couch, and i ground & filed a pommel from a solid piece of brass bar which was drilled out to fit the tang.
It is both glued in place with strong epoxy and secured with two brass screws through the tang end.
The pictures were taken by a later owner of the knife.
