Anyone score a Benchmade mini Onslaught Shot Show exclusive?

Just wondering if anyone got one of these? I was able to track one down and it is a pretty cool knife. I have been wanting to get a mini Onslaught for a while but just never got around to it. When I saw these I knew I had to try to get one. It has smooth carbon fiber scales that are gorgeous and 3 anodized blue stand offs. The steel has been upgraded* to D2 from 154CM in the regular version. Mine came perfectly centered, no blade play, and will tree top arm hairs. I will try to take some pictures of mine after a while.

Anyone else pick one up? What do you think?

*I think it is a upgrade. I think Benchmade has D2 dialed in and it holds a great edge. Can be a little hard to sharpen if you aren't well practiced but it gets that tool steel sharp and stays that way for a while.

That is a nice knife.

One of the reasons I picked up the Warn version of the Mini Barrage was I wanted to try D2 blade steel. I haven't tried to sharpen mine yet.

If you let it get all the way dull, you are in for some fun. An occassional touch up is advisable.

I got the full size onslaught when it first came out a couple years ago, but it was huge so I traded it off. I had a little bit of money to spend on a knife, so I was looking around last night and stumbled upon this limited mini onslaught. I love the looks of the full size, but this mini version looks just perfect. I snagged the last one in stock at my favorite online dealer.... It showed out of stock right after I placed the order, but just got notice it shipped. Whew! I kept waiting for the call saying they made a stock error. Blind luck, but it sure looks sweet and the price was great too! I'm not sure I'm going to be able to not use it though....

Thanks for posting. I wouldn't have noticed this version if it weren't for blade forums.

I got the LE Mini Onslaught (#94 of 500) yesterday. The knife looks great and is typical Benchmade excellence. The carbon fiber scales feel really good in the hand. Here's a pic of it with the Mini Dejavoo and the Lum Chinese. Of the three, the Mini Onslaught is by far my favorite. In fact, I like it so much, I just placed an order for a standard one. I think it would be a great EDC. The tip is really thin, but I'm not too hard on my pocket knives and this thing is a wicked slicer! If you see one of these still available, don't hesitate to pull the trigger. It's a beauty!

The mini Onslaught was on my list for awhile, and this limited edition is just what the doctor ordered. Got mine a couple weeks ago:

It's my third carbon fiber Benchmade, and I like the way they work the material. There is just the right amount of texture, and in good light the aesthetic value is hard not to appreciate; (none of this flat, boring, cookie-cutter 'twill' checkerboard pattern nonsense.) The knife is also tremendously ergonomic, and the "dorsal fin" acts as a thumb ramp for better control. Jimping is absent because it's unnecessary. Only complaint is the pocket clip. It was a good choice in terms of style but functionally could be better. It's not reversible (for lefties), carries shallow, and comes at an acute angle which is a little awkward if you're trying to, say, clip it inside your right front pocket. Other than that, fit and finish are excellent and it's a very attractive piece of hardware. I may just save this one and eventually get a standard mini Onslaught.

I got one too. It's very nicely made, very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, well worth the money.

Ordered mine last night. Cant wait to get this bad boy. I have used the normal min onslaught before and it just feels so nice in the hand that once i saw the carbon fiber version I placed an order immediately. Even though I was looking to buy a Mcusta and was looking online all day to figure out the one i wanted to buy. All went out the window once i saw the carbon version.

You won't be disappointed. It's a beauty. Makes me wish that Benchmade offered standard versions in carbon fiber. Mcusta makes some great knives too. I have 3 and every single one was probably the sharpest out of the box of any knife I've ever bought.

I just got one, and although i really like it, i think the clip sucks in one way. It looks great, but if you just touch it, it gets scratched. I've had it in my pocket a few times, and there are already hairline scratches on it....very aggravating.

Very attractive knife but the Benchmade bender I've been on for the last two weeks, combined with a pre-order coming in, has turned wine into water, many fish into few, and probably smothered all chances of scoring the Shot Show exclusive.

The blue standoffs look great on this handle. It would be sweet to have that option on the regular model for those of us who didn't get a tax refund in time.

crimson tide shooter (jdavis882 on youtube) did a very nice review on it. I really like the looks of this one over the regular one.
