Hope all is well! I can't remember who told me???....Maybe Travis at BM.., but someone said 100 were made -Chuck probably knows-? I have two of them with black handles 
so email me and we'll do the BM "Proto".., my truck, and one of my dogs for that Erickson

I've heard several different numbers. Heres what BM told me:
"and I must admit - it gets confusing with some of the product marked and some not. For the introduction of the new Bali-songs, we make only 40 prototypes of each of the 43A and 47 BLK. They had the wording on them " Prototype June 2001" . We then did an introduction of 100 of the new blades,"
This is the first time I heard of the number "40". But thats what they told me....

I still can't remember who said "100" to me, and your information is probably much better. When I read "Edgefinders" post the number 100 popped into my mind, but obviously some vital chemical missed my neuro-receptors

In the course of emailing Roberta De Asis about another knife, when these things were just coming onto the market, she stated that only 10 each of the Protos were being made...................Considering the knives I've seen pics of and the people that said they had one, I'd be more inclined to go with the 40 number.

From the number of guys that have told me they have a "Proto" of the 47, I'd have to say there are more than 10???? I got (2) without any trouble at all, and Leslie had two more if I'm not mistaken. Not likely that BM would let one dealer have 4 of them if there were only 10 made?
