anyone seen anything like this?

so i was browsing around youtube and found this. watch the video to see how the thing works.

and its a plastic replica of a sword from a video game.

its also extreemly cool.

so i was wondering if it were possible to make this into a real, usable, thing. if you watch the instructional video on it it has parts that wouldent be suitable for any sort of tool or edged weapon (like tiny rubber bands)

what do you guys think of this? also, what sort of locking mechanism is that?

Looks like one of those plastic swords that I played with as a kid, where it would all jam into the handle and you swing it open.

Cool little design, but terribly unpractical. I can't think of any actual use for it besides for show.

That sword would be too delicate to do any cutting with, even if it had a metal blade.
It is pretty cool, though. (And so was the game.) If anybody ever decided to produce something like that for a reasonable price, (which probably isn't going to happen, it's too complex,) I'd buy one just to play around with.
