I just stumbled upon a "Blue Wonder Gun Care" website and was looking around at their products and found something that I have not seen before. Its called Blue Wonder Gun Black. Its the same thing as gun blue, but its black! I think this is pretty awsome. And what ill probably be putting on my rat 3 here soon. Its supposed to be as tough as a hot blueing. If anyone has used this stuff before, or has any experience with the company, chime in please. Would love to see some pics of it on some knives... :) I think the website was bluewonder.us

Are you planning on covering a virgin blade? What steel? Or, are you going to use it to restore a coated knife that's showing a lot of wear? :)

Well let me start with apoligizing about posting this in the wrong forum. Now, I plan on using this to cover a rat 3 in 1095 that has seen some wear. So you could say a virgin blade. Considering im going to strip off the last of the factory coating. Any experience with this product?

No, but my experience with gun blue tells me, if you follow instructions and have a really sterile and prepped blade, you should be good to go.

Thanks for the replies. Would still like to know if anyone has any actual experiences with this product. Or atleast the company. Thanks

question: why not just force a patina on the blade and use a little mineral oil to coat the blade when you store it?

Just from what ive read about here, all the cold blue processes scratch very easily.Im also curious to see real world results.
