Anyone sharpen their Spartan with a Work Sharp?

My wife got me a Work Sharp for my birthday but I have been a bit timid to use it on my Spartan.

I have a work sharp and I've used it on some of my folders. I wouldn't recommend it for folders. I WOULD recommend the WS field sharpener. I can't hand sharpen for crap but I can get a knife RAZOR sharp with that thing.

I have two work sharps....the old one & the Onion work sharp.I love them & use them to sharpen my slipjoints & my fixed blades!

Either Work Sharp (original or KO) should work fine on the Spartan. I'd suggest getting comfy with the WS first, though. It might even be worthwhile to buy a cheap small kukri shaped blade or two off ebay to practice on first. If/when you do decide to do the Spartan, put some masking/painter's tape on the sides of the blade. Grit from the belts can collect on the guides and scratch the blade as you draw it through. The tape eliminates this. :thumbup:
