25 years ago the full serrated Spyderco Police was the hotness in the tactical knife market. Is there still a market for this cutlery classic?

Well Brother you're talking my language now :) The Spyderco POLICE SE model is one of the models I cut my Spyder teeth on. I even had one of the older GIN-1 models and I traded it away about 2 years ago hoping to snag a VG-10 SE Police model soon. I love the Police model in both SE & PE and I truly think it's one of the iconic Spyders that won't go away soon. The Police and the Harpy are both blades I'll never let go of.

The original first run ATS-55 Police model with the G-10 handle is one of my all time favorites. The Police is just a tad big for me to EDC everyday but I sure like it for outdoor and backpacking ventures. It's truly either a utility blade supreme or an outdoor folder ready for any type of hard use.

You just can't beat many of the older iconic Spyders>> and the Police is one that will always stand out IMO.

I have about four SS Police models...one PE, one CE, and two SE. I still occasionally carry the VG-10 SE one. It's big, but flat and smooth; it doesn't tear up your pockets. I also love the SS Harpy. I hope both of these will always remain in the lineup. They are among the very best clipits.

I was kinda considering a Police 3 PE, but now am also considering a Ulize. Then again, I may end up getting neither.

Gin-1 SE Police is my EDC for like 10 years.
In my opinion it is ultimate large spyderco. Nothing to add, nothing to take. Perfect.
It is PURE cutting power.

but now am also considering a Ulize.

The Ulize is one of my favorite EDC knives. You get the goodness of the Police G10 (thin and flat for the pocket, and that big honkin' blade), but the curved/canted scales are even more ergonomic (to me), and the recurve enhances the draw cut. That, and it just looks cool.

When I got my first SS Police model, back in 1990, I opted for plain edge for resharpening purposes. I didn't have a Sharpmaker then, and the Lansky system didn't have a serrated edge hone from what I could find.
