Anyone stripped the coating on a Rat3/rc3?

Hi. Was wandering if anyone has removed the coating on either of these knives. If so did u recoat them with anything or leave raw? Actually i would love to see pics of both. I think I would like a smoot coating or raw better than the "rhino-liner" type that comes factory. Any input and/or pics would be awsome. Thanks.
 
If ive posted this in the wrong forum then by all means move it. Just thought it was a pretty "general" question.
 
Relax, it is good where it is. The ESEE forum is closed.
I stripped a RC4 and then gun-blued it.

That looks very nice man. Great job. Does the blueing scratch up easily? Anything you dont like about it?
 
yup, there was a guy who did a 4 and a dpx/esee hest, and then got a forced patina using grape fruit. its somewhere in the now closed esee forum. it looked really sick though. ill try to dig it up later

ok um not to open a can of worms but what happened to the esee forum, i dont get on bf for a few days and bam my favorite sub forum is missing, What gives? :confused:
 
seriously im digging through dead threads at this point its majorly dissapointing :(

someone can just pm me if they feel like it, i just want to know what happened. It just seems to me that the ESEE guys had it rough first with ontario and then with DPX (i never found out what happened there either cause i was in afghanistan at the time)
