I did a NMFBM and found the grind lines were deep....also found there were or seemed to be...different colours of powder under the paint when the stripper had taken it off...one type....the "lighter" colouring was'nt too bad too take off....the other a "darker" powder was much harder...did'nt get this done well enough....a friend did a bead blast finish or tried to do one...this side shows through but the machine "blew" on the electrics doing it and he did'nt finish...it needs another blast but not until I give it a bit more abuse.
Personally I think the coated knives are a bit of a "mixed" bag when you strip them....these new coatings.....they seem to have a new "powder process" under the paint....are more trouble than the old IMHO.
As another lover of "nekkid" INFI, I must admit that the latests coatings I have stripped have really been tough to remove. I suppose that is a good thing, though. After having my Sarsquatch rust, I am rethinking the coating thing on Busses.
