Or Umnumzaan for that matter. Sometimes when I just don't feel like using the lugs you can open the knife quite easily with either the exposed nub on the Sebenza or the glass breaker on the Umnumzaan.

From time to time I use the nub, but it's like second nature for me to use the lug so I usually use it with thinking much about it.

only when I'm screwing around. If I actually need to deploy it, then thumblug all the way

+2:thumbup::thumbup:. My EDC seb is super smooth and very flickable since the installation of perforated washers, but I almost always use the regular thumbstud sweep when opening it.

Nope, they are not so smooth that is it easy to open them that way.

The answer = CR fluorinated grease, perforated washers, and some love :D:thumbup:
Lol, I have the fluorinated grease. none of my sebbies have the new perforated washers.
the umnumzaan does.... it must be the love part..
I can get the ummie open with the glasbreaker, but not all the way...
So I guess I'm around second base then... :D

There have been knives designed to open like that, with a grooved tang to make it easy. Kershaw had the Starkey Ridge and Cold Steel had a few.

Specifically I found inspiration with the Burger knives, as that is the primary opening method on those.
