I'm planning a trip to Bandolier soon and wondering about the tourist/congestion conditions. Is it crowded during the summer? Difficult to get permits? Horribly hot? Or better to wait until September-October?
Not planning on using the park campground but want to see the main park features without herds of tourists, and possibly take a backcountry hiking trip.
