Anyone try out the Cubitron belts yet?

I just tried the 60 grit and was very happy. They stay sharp alot longer and cut clean.I think because of how clean and sharp the cut is that the blade stays a little cooler.

I forget which DVD I was watching but the maker was well respected, and he spoke very highly of the cubitron belts. I think it was SR Johnson's sub-hilt fighter dvd, but I could be wrong there. I'm definitely going to give them a try one day.

The cubitron belts are a bit expensive but the lifespan of them makes the cost worthwhile as they last much longer than others. I had used the 967 belts for years with good success but switched to the new 984 about a year ago. The cutting is about the same on both but I feel that the 984 has even better longevity. As far as I know they both have the same ceramic grit with the difference being in the coating. Pop sent me a sample of the 984 when they first came out last fall and I've used them since then with very good success.

If you go to there website they will send you a free sample

RE: free samples
Please note: Samples are restricted to Industrial users only. You will be contacted to verify your request.

I don't think I fit their requirements unfortunately :(

I tried the 967's a while back and thought they were great for hogging. They also lasted a long time, I'll have to try these new ones next belt order.

I run the 984 cubitron two belts and believe they are a real advancement. The best yet of the ceramics. The cut is very clean and the grind is "predictable".

Well looks like I will have to try them with everyone talking so highly of them.

I don't see the 984's on Pop's website? Are they a super secret item :D

Pop sent me one of the 984's a couple months ago to try out, so he should have them, just give him a call.

I have been using the 967's for a few years and I'm happy with them but after using the belt Pop sent I think I will order the 984's next time to try out a batch of them.
