Anyone up for a meet and greet overnighter?

I'm in. If we get enough folks, I will make a knife and we can have a drawing or something and the winner gets it.... or hell something of that nature anyways!

Yeah, Ill.bring something too. It will be cold...but fun! If you cant stay overnight just come up for the day.

Maaan...would love to. but, guessing i won't get down (get funky?). it's a hike. have fun.

Chris, I don't think Sally T is up to any hiking yet, but if there is parking close to where you guys are going to be, I know she would love to come down and finally meet all of you. Don't think she would be able to stay overnite outdoors this late in the year either, but we could possibly make it down for the day. Any idea the lay of the land from you, Tackett, or someone in that area?
Be safe.

BALD RIVER FALLS TRAIL (CNF Trail 88)

Type of trail: Hiking

Level of difficulty: Easy

Trailhead directions: TN 165 (Cherohala Skyway) to Tellico River Road (FS 210) and park at Bald River Falls.

Trail Length: 5.6 miles

Hike along the Bald River to its end on FS 126. The entire trail measures 5.6 miles, but you can hike it as a one-way trail then reverse, enjoying the lush forest allow the rocky river. The trail has many walkers in its first mile, with picnic tables along the river. There are also some backpacking campsites along the river. If you plan to hike the entire trail, parking cars at each end requires a loop of roads measuring about 35 miles.

Found this off that link above. I never have been there maybe wilson can shed some light on the area.

Holly Flats camp ground is just up from the trail head. If you want you can camp there and day hike the trail. The ride to the camp ground/trail head can be.......interesting. You are in the Tellico Mountains.
Not as high as the Smoky's, but you're going up and down some ridges on a dirt road. Chris, give me a call and I'll fill you in as best I can. If you and Tackett have a free day one weekend soon we could meet and make a day trip up there. I haven't been in a couple years.

It's always better to tour with locals. The SO and I would do something like this next spring as long as we had at least 4 weeks notice. I've been in the Smokies and I'd go back to a different section of the region. My grandmother lives in Hendersonville NC. I need to see her, it's been awhile. A place like this isn't too far from the route I'd take to get to western NC. Two birds with one stone...

Anyway... Can't do it this time. Have fun ya'll!

I'm on vacation starting that Saturday but going to knoxville for the game with some friends :/ won't be able to make this one will do my best to be at the next one

have fun guys -- if there's anyone closer to the middle of the country interested in a short notice meetup, I'm having a campout in my back pasture the weekend of Nov 9-11.
There will be folks from BF, HF, and BC-USA.
Friday evening I'm making up a large pot of venison goulash and a buddy is bringing some smoked brisket and pork for Saturday night's meal.
